Join Ascents of Adventure in 2019 on a road bike. Cycling is a fantastic way to travel and the trips I have on offer get to see the very best road cycling that the UK and the Continent has to offer.
The emphasis on most trips are journeys, travelling from one location to another. However, if you'd like a single location based holiday how about a long weekend or week cycling on Mallorca - it's always nice to get a bit of winter sunshine.
And if the short and steep or long and not so steep climbs of the UK or Alps aren't quite for you at the moment how about London to Paris to get you started.
All trips are most definitely sold as holidays, no racing on these trips. Stopping for tea and cakes and to take lots of photos is positively encouraged, if not obligatory!
And you don't need a ₤3000 super bike either. Although these are holidays intended for road bikes it matters not one jot whether this has dropped bars or flat, 25mm tyres or 28. If in any doubt about bikes please ask.
Whether an experienced cyclist or new to the whole thing please enquire about any of the trips that I am running.
And if you're concerned about travelling with a bike abroad have no fear, all European holidays (except Mallorca) include transport of your bike and luggage included within the price - no need for bike bags or boxes and simply take hand luggage onto the plane.
Details of all cycling holidays can be found on my new website

Ever had the idea of cycling in the Alps but thought your bike isn't good enough. Contrary to belief you don't need a mega expensive carbon fibre, 22 gear'd, disc brake'd bike to ride through the Alps. Doesn't even need drop handle bars and tyres can be 25, 28 or 30mm - I can hear some of the cycling world tutting under its breath as I type.
Join me on the fantastic Route des Grandes Alpes trip through the Alps on whatever bike you've got. Ok, it'll need gearing to get you up the hills but you can coast all the downs. Brakes need to be in excellent working order. You'll be provided with computer files and full turn by turn written notes - it's a relatively straightforward route to follw.
This is a 430 mile trip over 8 days so a realistic 50 to 60 miles per day allowing time to admire the view, take snaps and relax in the sun after a hilly days biking. The route starts on the shore of Lac Leman and finishes on the Mediterranean at Menton crossing 16 Alpine cols en route including the Colombiere, Telegraph, Galibier, Izoard and Vars.
Bikes and luggage taken out for you, transfers from and to airports included, B and B accommodation and lunches provided. ₤1250 per person. Please contact me if you'd like further information about this trip.
