There are 4 mountains in the Lake District that are over 3000 feet. They are Skiddaw, Helvellyn, Scafell, and the highest mountain in England, Scafell Pike.
Join Ascents of Adventure on a 1, 2 or 3 day walking adventure that will walk up all 4 of these hills. For the 3 day trip we start with Skiddaw on day 1. The next day we tackle Helvellyn via the Grade 1 scramble of Striding Edge, where a bit of a head for heights is required and where hands as well as feet will be used for some sections. We then descend Swirral Edge to finish a memorable day. On day 3 we finish the trip with an ascent of Scafell and the highest mountain in England, Scafell Pike. The way between the Scafells is steep and rocky but a sneaky route up via Foxes Tarn gives a small amount of hands on scrambling to link these two summits.
If you've never been on a walking holiday before this could be the ideal introduction. I have also used this trip as a practice run for the 3 Peaks Challenge.
Don't panic if you haven't got loads of kit. You will need a pair of well fitting and broken in hill walking boots or shoes. You'll need clothing to keep you dry and warm and also a few other items like a hat and gloves, lunch and a drink for each day and a little rucksack to carry it all in.
Available every weekend.
Please note, for the 2 day trip it will mean dashing betwixt Skiddaw and Helvellyn on the same day and may not involve the ascent of Striding Edge. Available every weekend.
To complete the Lakeland 3000s in a continous walk is a huge and epic adventure. 45+ miles and 10000+ feet of ascent make this harder than the National 3 Peaks, Yorkshire 3 Peaks or Welsh 14 Peaks.
Please contact me to register interest for a mighty 24 hours in the Lakeland hills. Fully guided with vehicle support at road crossings.
Proposed date for this adventure 23 - 24 June 2018, Price tbc
