Rock Climbing in Snowdonia

The world famous crags and cliffs of Snowdonia, North Wales, contain some of the best and well known rock climbing routes in the country. A historically rich climbing venue, the names and annecdotes of times gone by make compelling reading - The first ascent of Hope on the Idwal slabs by Mrs E H Daniells in 1915, originally named Minerva "to mark the fact that it came from feminine skill and prudence"; the exploits of Joe Brown and Don Whillans; Ron Fawcett's "come on arms, do your stuff" on the first, and televised, ascent of Lord of The Flies on Dinas Cromlech to name but a few.

Ideal for beginners or for those who have done a bit of climbing, there is a rock climbing venue to suit every need in Snowdonia. Easily accessible roadside crags, magnificent mountain crags and stunning seacliffs-Snowdonia has it all.

Rock climbing days or courses in Snowdonia are always designed to suit clients' requirements; beginners rock climbing, intermediate rock climbing, learning to lead or guiding on some of the classic routes of the area - the choice is yours.

Introduction to Rock Climbing - Snowdonia

The perfect introduction to rock climbing if you've never tried this sport before or have done a small amount of climbing in a climbing wall and want to see what climbing outside is all about.

2 days of multi pitch rock climbing where you'll learn enough to look after yourself as a second including putting on a harness, tying on to the rope, belaying and abseiling.

All climbing equipment provided, including rock shoes, so you need buy no climbing kit at all. If the weather allows we'll stay out late on Saturday to get the maximum amount of time on the rock.

Classic Rock - Snowdonia

The iconic 1980s Ken Wilson book, Classic Rock, contains some of the most famous and best rock climbs in the country. Join Ascents of Adventure on a Classic Rock 3 days that will attempt to climb a number of these routes in Snowdonia - weather depending of course! There are 22 routes in Snowdonia and an ascent of any of these routes will be climbs to remember. Flying Buttress, Great Gully, Main Wall, Crackstone Rib and the huge Avalanche/Red Wall/Longland's Continuation on Lliwedd are just a few of the routes that may be climbed. There are only 2 places available per course and the course fee includes all guiding and use of any specialised equipment. It would be preferable if you had done a small amount of climbing prior to this course. 3 looooong days of climbing.
